Some Frequently Asked Questions
1. My water bill has gone up, but I don’t see any signs of a leak. Are you still able to help me?
Absolutely, a sure sign of a leak is an increase in your water bill without any increase in your usage. Even if you’re not sure that you have a leak, or where it may be coming from, we’ll still be able to help out. Our advanced technology and techniques mean that we can identify leaks where they are unseen, whether hidden under floors, behind walls or even within the water system. We can then provide our water or flood damage repair service.
2. How do you detect water leaks?
Our engineers are experienced and qualified in leak detection and use industry best methods and equipment to detect hidden leaks no matter how hard they are to find. We use acoustic or thermal leak detection, endoscopy and tracer gas analysis, to name a few technology. We will always use the most suitable methods, and we’re extremely careful to cause the least disruption and additional damage as possible to your property.
3. Once you’ve found the leak, are you able to repair it and any associated damage?
Of course, once we’ve found it, we will fix the leak and carry out any remedial work required to get your home back to normal as soon as possible. If the leak has been ongoing for some time, we can also carry out a moisture survey and a full drying out service to ensure that all materials are dry. This’ll prevent mould growth at a later stage.
4. Okay so, I have a small leak which isn’t causing any damage. Is it okay to leave it?
Definitely not, the smallest of leaks can grow into something bigger pretty fast. Then there’s the potential damage that an ongoing release of water causes. Some people try collecting the leaking water in a bucket, but because an extra amount of water is being let out into the air, it can contribute towards mould growth, which can cause structural damage an be harmful to your health. The best thing to do is to contact someone like us for a high-quality water damage restoration service.
5. What do I do if I have mould, how can I get rid of it?
Sometimes after a leak you could experience a musty or damp smell, or see visible signs of mould growing actively on floors, ceilings or walls. We can dry affected substrates using very sophisticated technology, our drying out equipment can dry out all the moisture in a property (which is often the cause of mould growth) and then we perform odour neutralisation. So no matter which method is used, we can guarantee your property will be left 100% dry and odour free.
